Weekly UZEX Digest (May 25-May 31)
During the last week, from May 25 to May 31, a total of 23,896 transactions were concluded across all trading platforms of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange, representing a 56.1% decrease compared to the previous week. Of the total transactions, 46.0% were executed through exchange trading, while the remaining 54.0% were conducted via e-commerce trading systems.
As a result of electronic public procurement trading, total savings achieved by government and corporate customers amounted to UZS 72.4 billion.
During the reporting period, 87 telephone numbers were sold through the online auction platform.
Exchange Trading
During the reporting period, 11,000 transactions were concluded through open exchange trading.
Cottonseed Oil
A total of 772.0 tonnes of cottonseed oil were sold through exchange trading. The average daily sales volume amounted to 386.0 tonnes, while an average of 9 buyers participated in trading each day.
During the period under review, the average daily price of all grades of cottonseed oil decreased from UZS 16,936.0 thousand to UZS 16,871.8 thousand per tonne.
Ferrous Metal Products
During the past week, 3,240.0 tonnes of ferrous metal products were traded on the exchange. An average of 24 buyers participated in trading each day, while the average daily sales volume reached 1,620.0 tonnes.
During the period under review, the average daily price of all grades of ferrous metal products decreased from UZS 8,060.5 thousand to UZS 8,020.5 thousand per tonne.
Polypropylene
During the reporting week, 1,403.0 tonnes of polypropylene were offered for sale, of which 751.0 tonnes, or 53.5%, were sold. The average daily sales volume amounted to 375.0 tonnes.
During the period under review, the average daily price of all grades of polypropylene decreased from UZS 17,807.0 thousand to UZS 17,553.7 thousand per tonne. An average of 28 buyers participated in exchange trading each day.
