UZEX Strengthens Its Position in the Global Exchange Community
The Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UZEX) continues to strengthen its position in the global exchange community and expand cooperation with leading international financial institutions.
Following the 28th Annual General Meeting and International Exchange Conference of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM), held in Taipei, Taiwan, the Chairman of UZEX was elected to the AFM Executive Board, one of the most authoritative international organizations in the field of futures trading.

The election of a UZEX representative to the governing body of AFM reflects the growing role of Uzbekistan in the international exchange community and demonstrates the high recognition of the country's ongoing reforms aimed at developing modern exchange mechanisms, financial infrastructure, and market institutions.
This appointment will enable UZEX to actively participate in global exchange industry development initiatives, facilitate the introduction of advanced financial instruments, promote the adoption of international best practices, and strengthen cooperation with leading exchanges and financial institutions worldwide.
Another significant outcome of the event was the decision to hold the 29th AFM Annual General Meeting and International Exchange Conference in Uzbekistan in 2027.
For the first time in AFM’s history, this major international event will be hosted in Central Asia. The conference is expected to bring together executives from the world’s leading exchanges, clearing organizations, investment firms, financial institutions, brokerage companies, and technology providers supporting modern exchange infrastructure.
The international conference will serve as a platform for discussing key trends in the development of commodity and financial markets, futures trading, clearing and settlement systems, risk management, digital transformation, and the application of artificial intelligence within exchange infrastructure.

Hosting the forum is particularly significant in the context of UZEX’s strategy to develop the derivatives market and establish a modern futures trading infrastructure in Uzbekistan. One of the key elements of this strategy is the establishment of the joint venture UZEX Global, which will provide domestic businesses with access to international derivatives markets and modern price risk hedging instruments.
The organization of the AFM Annual General Meeting and International Exchange Conference in Uzbekistan will represent an important milestone in strengthening the international standing of UZEX, enhancing Uzbekistan’s investment attractiveness, and promoting the country as one of the emerging centers for exchange trading and financial infrastructure development in Central Asia.
