Uzbek Commodity Exchange Joint Stock Company (UZEX) was registered by the Ministry of Justice in April 1994. Today, it is the largest trading platform in Central Asia and one of the steadily developing commodity exchanges among CIS countries.
Purpose and Scope of Activity
The main purpose and scope of the exchange's activity is to create necessary conditions for trading exchange goods through open auctions, held at a set time and place according to established rules. The exchange aims to organize these trades and form market prices for exchange goods based on actual supply and demand.
Working Hours
The Uzbek Commodity Exchange operates from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Two trading sessions are held during the day: a morning and an evening session. Other trading platforms operate 24/7, seven days a week.

UZEX exchange trading is conducted based on the principles of transparency, openness, and equal competitive conditions for clients. According to the rules of exchange trading, all participants regardless of whether they are residents or non-residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan have equal rights.
UZEX plays an important role in ensuring equal access for both domestic and foreign companies to highly liquid commodity assets produced in the republic, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, petroleum products, cotton fiber, mineral fertilizers, sugar, wheat flour, grain, and more.
The Exchange is located in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It has a multi-branch trading infrastructure. Its structure includes 13 branches located in the centers of all regions. Currently, more than 200 trading platforms and 800 brokerage offices provide exchange services to clients.
Trade technologies
There are 6 trading platforms on the exchange:
- E-system of exchange trading (spot.uzex.uz).
- B2B trading (yarmarka.uzex.uz).
- E-auctions for vehicle license plates (avtoraqam.uzex.uz).
- Public e-procurement trading system (xarid.uzex.uz).
- E-auctions for phone numbers (mobilraqam.uzex.uz).
- Trading portal for e-logistics (e-logistika.uzex.uz).
Exchange trades
Exchange trading is carried out through an electronic system. Goods with standard features that can be exchanged with similar products from other manufacturers or batches are regularly offered for trading.

- The opportunity to determine the optimal market price due to strong competition formed by the participation of many buyers and sellers in the trades.
The right to participate in exchange trading is granted to exchange members who have acquired a brokerage place according to the established procedure.
Only “Exchange commodities” are traded on the exchange trading platform. An “Exchange commodity” is a product that has standard quality and characteristics, and can be easily exchanged with similar products from other manufacturers or other batches. It must be regularly available for trading.
The "UZEX" conducts trading every day, except Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM Tashkent time. In order to create favorable conditions for domestic and foreign participants in foreign economic activity, since March 4, 2005, a foreign exchange trading platform has been operating at UZEX, where any volume of highly liquid products can be purchased for hard currency.
B2B trading
B2B goods are all goods which were admitted to civil circulation regardless of their qualitative and quantitative parameters, including goods which have purely individual properties and are not systematically or rarely exhibited on trades.
All trades are realized via Internet in real-time mode and calculations are also made in on-line mode.

Minimal amount of intermediaries
AVTORAQAM Platform
AVTORAQAM is a new trading platform for the sale of state registration license plates for motor vehicles with an increased payment rate for individuals and legal entities.
Like other trading platforms of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX), the new electronic auction mechanism is based on the principles of openness, transparency, competitiveness, and equal access for all participants.
The license plates are put up for auction by responsible employees of the divisions of the Road Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Payment for individuals is made via plastic cards, which must be linked after logging into the personal account. Legal entities make payments via bank transfer, with the payment details specified in the public offer.
Public e-procurement trading
Since 2018, the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UzRCE) has served as the operator of the special information portal for public procurement – xarid.uz. This portal ensures transparency and efficiency in public procurement processes. It provides open access to all public procurement announcements and facilitates electronic purchases through an e-store and auction format.
Buyers and suppliers participate in the bidding exclusively using digital electronic signatures. The auctions are conducted in the form of reverse auctions. The system employs a guaranteed transaction mechanism through the clearing and settlement chamber.
MOBILRAQAM Platform
MOBILRAQAM is a new electronic trading system by UZEX for the sale of premium subscriber phone numbers with desirable digit combinations through an online auction. Both legal entities (B2B) and individuals (B2C) can participate in the online auction as buyers.
Like other UZEX trading platforms, this new auction mechanism is based on the principles of openness, transparency, competitiveness, and equal access for all participants.
e-Logistik platform
Accordingly, e-logistics trading portal e-logistika.uzex.uz ensures the transparency of the commodities delivery procedure.
It means that each buyer is always positive about timely delivery of the commodity, purchased on the exchange, and the seller is sure about full and timely payment for his traded commodities.
Buyers and sellers are involved in the exchange trading only through the brokerage houses.
