Weekly UZEX Digest (May 18-May 24)
During the last week, from 18 to 24 May, a total of 54,404 transactions were concluded across all trading platforms of Uzbek Commodity Exchange, representing an increase of 22.1% compared to the previous week. Of these, 42.5% were concluded on the exchange trading platform, while the remaining 57.5% were executed through electronic commerce systems.
As a result of electronic public procurement auctions, total savings achieved by budgetary and corporate customers amounted to UZS 264.4 billion.
During the reporting period, 158 telephone numbers were sold through the online auction platform.
Exchange Trading
During the reporting period, 23,100 transactions were concluded on the open exchange trading platform.
Cement
A total of 513,250.0 tonnes of cement was offered for trading, of which 178,605.0 tonnes, or 34.8%, was sold. The average daily sales volume amounted to 35,721.0 tonnes.
During the period under review, the average daily cement price decreased from UZS 649.0 thousand to UZS 639.5 thousand per tonne. On average, 83 buyers participated in exchange trading each day.
Wheat
During the previous week, 38,637.0 tonnes of wheat was sold through exchange trading. On average, 385 buyers participated in exchange trading each day. The average daily sales volume amounted to 7,727.0 tonnes.
During the period under review, the average daily wheat price decreased from UZS 2,970.6 thousand to UZS 2,956.4 thousand per tonne.
Rice Husk
During the past week, 7,899.0 tonnes of rice husk was sold through exchange trading. On average, 9 buyers participated in exchange trading each day. The average daily sales volume amounted to 1,580.0 tonnes.
During the period under review, the average daily rice husk price decreased from UZS 3,222.2 thousand to UZS 2,814.9 thousand per tonne.
