Weekly UZEX Digest ( September 1– September 7 )
During the past week, from September 1 to 7, a total of 25,993 transactions were concluded across all trading platforms of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange JSC (UZEX), which is 37.8% less compared to the previous week. Of these, 37.6% were executed through exchange trades, while the remaining 62.4% were carried out via electronic commerce systems.
As a result of electronic public procurement auctions, budgetary and corporate customers saved UZS 124.7 billion.
In addition, 2,689 license plates were sold through the online auction platform during the reporting period.
Exchange Trading
In total, 9,761 transactions were concluded on the open exchange market.
Polyethylene
A total of 2,036.0 tons of polyethylene were listed for trading, and the entire volume was sold. The average daily sales volume reached 509.0 tons.
During the reporting period, the average daily price of polyethylene declined from UZS 16,832.4 thousand to UZS 16,660.8 thousand per ton. On average, 69 buyers participated in exchange trading daily.
Ferrous Metal Products
A total of 5,015.0 tons of ferrous metal products were sold on the exchange. The average daily sales volume amounted to 1,254.0 tons.
Over the week, the average daily price of ferrous metal products decreased from UZS 9,328.6 thousand to UZS 9,302.3 thousand per ton. On average, 45 buyers took part in the trading sessions daily.
Urea
During the past week, 7,628.0 tons of urea were listed for trading, of which 3,167.0 tons (41.5%) were sold. On average, 59 buyers participated in daily exchange trading.
The average daily price for all grades of urea slightly decreased from UZS 3,640.4 thousand to UZS 3,629.2 thousand per ton over the reporting period.
