Weekly UZEX Digest (March 16-March 22)
Over the past week, from March 16 to March 22, a total of 54,826 transactions were concluded across all trading platforms of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange, representing a 20.5% increase compared to the previous week. Of these, 41.9% were executed through exchange trading, while the remaining 58.1% were conducted via e-commerce trading systems.
As a result of electronic public procurement auctions, total savings for budgetary and corporate customers amounted to UZS 112.3 billion.
During the reporting period, 243 telephone numbers were sold through the online auction platform.
Exchange Trading
During the reporting period, 22,981 transactions were concluded in open exchange trading.
Cement
A total of 405,158.0 tons of cement were offered for sale on the exchange, of which 157,342.0 tons were sold, or 38.8%. The average daily trading volume amounted to 39,336.0 tons.
Over the reviewed period, the average daily price of cement decreased from UZS 629.9 thousand to UZS 616.6 thousand per ton. On average, 76 buyers participated in exchange trading each day.
Wheat
A total of 32,283.0 tons of wheat were sold through exchange trading. On average, 341 buyers participated in trading each day, with an average daily trading volume of 8,071.0 tons.
During the period under review, the average daily price of wheat decreased from UZS 3,111.9 thousand to UZS 3,061.7 thousand per ton.
Cotton Fiber
During the past week, 28,058.0 tons of cotton fiber were offered for sale, of which 7,960.0 tons were sold, or 28.4%. The average daily trading volume amounted to 1,990.0 tons.
Over the reviewed period, the average daily price for all grades of cotton fiber decreased from UZS 18,076.8 thousand to UZS 17,939.7 thousand per ton. On average, 8 buyers participated in exchange trading each day.
