A representative of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) visited UZEX
On September 8, 2025, Russell Beattie, Managing Director of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) for Asia-Pacific region, visited the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UZEX) and met with the Exchange’s leadership.
The visit marked an important step toward expanding inter-exchange cooperation and sharing experience in the development of new exchange trading mechanisms.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Asadulla Kayumov, Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange, expressed his gratitude to the international guest for the visit and highlighted the strategic importance of developing cooperation with the world’s largest commodity exchange.



During the negotiations, the parties discussed in detail the latest trends and prospects in the global exchange industry, as well as a wide range of issues related to the comprehensive development of cooperation between the two exchanges.
Mr. Russell Beattie highly praised Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms, including achievements made in exchange trading, and expressed his readiness to assist in organizing training programs for Uzbek specialists and market participants.
Following the visit, the parties agreed to continue working contacts and hold regular consultations on the development and improvement of exchange trading in Uzbekistan.
